Don’t risk installing a second grade piece of registry software, they have the capability of permanently damaging your registry rather than repairing it.
I know it can feel almost impossible at times, with all of the fake reviews around, to find a good source of info on registry cleaners that you can trust.
If you search for the term “Registry Repair” or “Registry Cleaner” you will be faced with a multitude of paid adverts all mimicking each other, saying a very limited amount of things such as “first read my review of….” or “don’t download a registry cleaner until you have read …..”
These sites are normally very quickly set up by amateurs, solely to make as much money as possible, with total disregard to you, the product they are affiliates for or the after effects that product could have on your computer and other equipment.

Your goal when looking for registry cleaners is to buy the correct, easy to use, ‘compatible’ download that safely helps your PC to run smoothly, not the one that brags to be able to find more errors than its opponent.

The large majority of registry cleaning software programs are built up from the same basic source code/script which has only very slight customization, just enough to make it original and to put a new designers name to it without infringing copyright.
That’s where the problems start, because that basic script didn’t have real registry cleaning capability, it was created mainly to scan the registry.
That basic script had never heard of Windows XP or Vista, it was born long before they were.

This leads me to believe that there are hundreds of identical, largely inferior, incompatible registry cleaners doing an unacceptably low quality job.
In the software industry this is known as white labeling and is a very common, accepted practice, a product or service produced by a company, the producer, that other companies the marketers can then rebrand to make it uniquely their own.
I am telling you this purely so that you can understand how many second rate products there are on the market with low grade coding and script. Maybe this will make you aware that you need to look around, don’t just jump on the first registry cleaner you see, thinking that it will cure all of your problems, you might find that it only makes things worse.
One simple way around this is to ask friends or family what products have or have not worked for them and take their advice.
